Story of Change: Ing Oarom (Klahan9 Online Audience)
Oarom is currently the manager of a vegetable store (Srok Srae) which sells organic vegetables bought from local farmers. He graduated in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development from Royal University of Agriculture. Oarom decided to run an organic vegetable store when he finished his study in Israel, aiming to expand the market of organic vegetable produce for people in rural areas as well as support local farmers.
Oarom has known Klahan9 since 2017, specifically when Klahan9 launched Dream Station. He then started following up with the Klahan9 Facebook page to view new content and videos frequently. From the video content, he learnt concepts about financial planning, motivation at work and business start-up ideas that are applicable to his new store.
Oarom recalled a content about an indigenous man from Ratanakiri province who, after 20 years of traditional farming, was looking for new techniques to achieve his dream of expanding his farm with high crop yields. In addition, most of the content inspired him with new business planning ideas and concepts. He is confident that exposing to other people’s experience and ideas helps guide him to perform better in his new business. “The content is not much about the technical skills but more of concepts, it involves stories of determination and motivation that guide people to take action”, Oarom added.
Overall, after he frequently viewed Klahan9 posts and videos on the Facebook page, he noticed some significant impacts on himself. First, he is inspired by the lesson learnt from business and financial problems, especially from dreamers who have faced problems in doing business. Despite being entirely new to the organic vegetable business, he started to feel more confident in running the store and keeping it going. Secondly, he learnt from previous experience and the decisions that the dreamers make to overcome challenges when running business. He is determined to overcome issues emerging from his business such as financial management, transportation, and staff problems. On managing his staff, he usually synthesized ideas from the posts and videos on Klahan9 page to share with his staff, as they served as a great reminder for them in planning, motivation to work and problem-solving.
“As a human being, you cannot look down on anyone if they show their willingness and passion for something”, Oarom quoted.
